Description

Quik-Set™ is a non-corrosive, non-chloride accelerating admixture which quickens the hydration of cement, resulting in shorter set times and high early strength. It provides improved workability, helps prevent segregation and is a substantial aid in early stiffening for mortar and stucco mixes.

Quik-Set™ is an aqueous solution of organic and inorganic compounds that produces a rapid heat development of the mortar that protects it from freezing during its early life at low temperatures. V.O.C. compliant.

Uses

Quik-Set™ is specifically formulated for use in cold weather or wherever it is desirable to reduce the setting time, increase early strength, and improve mortar workability.

Use Quik-Set™ to prevent the corrosive effect of calcium chloride admixtures. Use Quik-Set™ where the corrosion of embedded steel, steel reinforcement or ties must be avoided.

Application

Add Quik-Set™ to water and aggregate. Quik-Set™ can be added to the sand, in the water, or to the complete mix. Do not add to dry cement. Do not allow Quik-Set™ to contact other additives before entering the mortar.

Add Quik-Set™ at the rate of 10-25 oz. (283-707.5 grams) per bag of masonry cement depending upon the degree of acceleration required. For Portland Cement, add 18-46 oz. (509-1302 grams) of Quik-Set™

It is recommended that the exact rate of addition be determined by testing the actual materials to be used on each job. The rates of addition given are guidelines based upon a variety of conditions and materials.
